The Hooping Life in Melbourne

August 9, 2012

The Hooping Life is coming to Melbourne and we need your help! Touching down in Australia October 6 & 7, 2012 for a two night screening and community event, we are whipping up a weekend of hoop Extravaganza.

Tickets just $10 ea Purchase through our Pozible project and check out the rewards for contributing to this community event.

To make this event possible we are raising funds through Pozible and asking for your support in return for tickets to the event if you are in Melbourne or other rewards if you are not but still would like to contribute (Even if you are not in Melbourne we would greatly love your support to bring this ground breaking film to Australia…every little bit helps to make this possible- so much thanks!)

The Hooping Life documents the early days of a subculture predominantly spearheaded by women. For a Hollywood raver, an inner-city teacher, a transgender performer, a television actress, a Southern male preacher, the hoop is a muse. And in turn, their commitment to the hoop transforms them.

The first Australian screening of the US made movie, the Hooping Life will be presented and supported by Hooplovers in Melbourne. Screened over two nights October 6 & 7 at the Irene Arts Warehouse in Brunswick East. Each screening night will include an array of spectacular hoop shows from the local and national hoop community and followed by a hoop jam. Whether you are a hoop star, a hoop supporter or simply intrigued by the whole phenomena we invite you to support this very special two day event, the first of it’s kind in Australia.
